James Peter Smeriglio III was born and raised in West Palm Beach, FL. Coming from a family with a long history of military or law enforcement service, a passion for law and justice was instilled in Jamie from a very young age. After graduating from Wellington High School, he left South Florida for Orlando and enrolled at the University of Central Florida on an academic scholarship.
After graduating from UCF, James enrolled at Barry University’s Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law. While in law school, he advocated as an active member of the law school’s trial program. During his time there, he won both National and State Championships for trial advocacy. When he wasn’t in the courtroom, James served as a Research Assistant, researching and writing articles on cutting edge issues in healthcare and business law.
Upon graduation, Mr. Smeriglio began work as an Assistant State Attorney. During his time as a prosecutor, he served in numerous specialty prosecution units, including the DUI unit, Juvenile unit, and the Felony Domestic Violence unit. As a prosecutor, James successfully tried cases from simple misdemeanor charges all the way to 1st-degree felonies punishable by life in prison.
Now, James dedicates his work to protect the rights of the accused, the injured, and local businesses and those who run them. Working hard for those rights in courts across the State of Florida.
If you or anyone you know has been accused of a crime, injured in an accident, or needs representation or counsel for business litigation, please schedule a consultation with James.
